I act for a range of landlord and tenant clients across the retail and leisure sectors, with a particular focus on advising institutional landlords on regional and sub-regional shopping centres regarding rent reviews, lease renewals, and lease re-gears. With close to 30 years of experience, I have worked on over 65 shopping centre instructions across the UK, handling more than 5,000 negotiations during this time.

After 18 months travelling across Asia and Oceania, visiting countries such as Japan, China and South Korea, it is clear that technology is reshaping retail and leisure, fundamentally changing how we shop. I began in retail property during the shopping centre boom of the mid-1990s and focused on experiential retail in the 2000s, as brands like Apple and Nike emphasised design and ambience. Over the past 10–15 years, the shift towards flexible occupation has had the greatest impact, requiring creative solutions and closer collaboration between landlords and tenants.
